Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug in Australia:
nearly one in five high school students have sparked up. However,
new Australian research, reviewing the records of more than 20,000
patients, shows smoking marijuana can bring on mental health
problems, such as psychosis and schizophrenia around 2.7 years
earlier than people who don't smoke it.
Check out the video below of Dr Matthew Large, the lead
researcher of the study from the University of New South Wales
discussing the research findings.
But is this message getting through to our students. What ideas
have you got for raising awareness about this with your students?
What works in classrooms? What doesn't? and what resources have you
found that engage your students in the debate?
